After breakfast, you guide will pick you up from your hotel in Beijing. Then drive to Chengde for about 3 hours and 15 mins’ driving (about 230 km).

After having lunch in Chengde, go to visit the Mountain Resort, the largest imperial garden that built for 89 years beginning from 1703. As the largest and best-preserved imperial palace outside of the capital Beijing, Chengde Mountain Resort is surrounded by a wall over ten kilometers long, meandering along the mountain ridges, which took 87 years to finish.

Later, move on to Pule Temple, one of Eight Outer Temples in Chengde City. It was built by Emperor Qianlong in 1766 to mark the visit of representatives of Mongolian and other minorities from northwestern China. You’ll see the temple with two styles – the front part as the entrance to Zong Ying Palace is in traditional temple style of Han Nationality while the rear is the Du City in Tibetan style.

Stay overnight in Chengde.

Today, your first visit is to Putuo Zongcheng Temple, one of the Eight Outer Temples outside the Summer Resort. Because it is similar to the Potala Palace in Lhasa, it is also called Little Potala Palace. Building in Han and Tibetan Style, it used to be an important place for religion ceremonies.

Then you’ll move on to the Puning Temple (or Temple of Universal Peace), which was first built in 1775 to be a treasure house of the ancient arts of architecture and sculpture. As one of the "Eight Outer Temples" of Chengde, it also holds the world's tallest wooden sculpture of the Bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara (22.28-meter high).

After lunch, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Beijing.

Service End.
